I haven't seen this posted yet. 247 sports did an interview with coach Campbell and in it he discussed our redshirt class. He said of the freshmen that played, all contributed and that by mid-season another 10-12 freshmen were ready to play. That sounds like a great freshmen class to me. Makes me very excited to see these guys play this fall.
It was broken down between offense and defense. Offense first:
QB----Of course he was high on Zeb Noland. He said he is doing well and will participate in individual and 7 on 7 drills in spring.
OL----Sean Foster #1 name that came to his mind. Foster is at 295# but said he still needs to work on growing physically. Said he has a nasty streak...great to hear. Said he will be in competition to start.
He said that Keenon Forbes, Oge Udegou (rs junior), and Josh Mueller all made great strides.
TE----He seemed surprised by the development of Dylan Soehner and said both Dylan and Chase Allen will compete to play. Said Allen would have played this year if not for getting sick.
Wide Receiver--- Said Jalen Martin was the number 1 prospect at that position.

Defense:

DL----Eyioma Uwazurike is 6' 6" and will be 280 by spring, great football ability and can rush passer. It sounded like he needed his freshmen year to settle himself with his studies.

Carson Lensing--- Very athletic projects him at Leo said he is up to 240# and quick and agile.
Josh Baily---Trimmed down from 300 to 380 and excited about him.
LB---
Tymar Sutton Broke hand right before fall camp and said he might have played this year if not for the injury. Seems very high on him.

Corner--
Arnold Azunna---Maybe one of the best d backs on the team. Aggressive, physical and shows tremendous ability.
Jatairis Grant--- really tackles well in the open field and can really hit. Looking at him at safety.
Lawerence mentioned as in the same boat as Grant

Recruiting in general. Alex Halsted asked him bout his recruiting and that he approached like the NFL and not college. Apparently the staff watches streaming of hs games so they can see more than the high light films. They call and talk to the teachers of the players to check on their character.
His motto is recruit retain develop. He said he likes to develop a relationship with the players and that last all 3,4,5 years they are on the team. He doesn't want to be a phony by recruiting them and then forgetting them as he recruits the next class.
They talked about Rudy and the strength program. Said winter sets thoe tone. He said last year they looked at this time as transitional time and tha was a mistake. He feels like that time is a key piece of a football program. That is when establish the work ethic and the fabric of your team. He said he wants the will to prepare to be better than the will to win.
Sorry this is so long. Coach Campbell is a class act and I am so happy he is leading the team.

ps,
He also talked briefly about the need for a training table facility and players lounge. He thanked JP for hiring a nutritionist for the team. It sounded like the goal was to have this facility in two years.
