I’ve always thought Higgins was a great ref and honoring him yesterday was pretty awesome. Was told a story about him that may/may not be true, but given who told me…believe it is. He absolutely despised Fran McCaffrey, hated reffing his games, and eventually wouldn’t. One game Fran & his wife were being extra Fran and his wife and John had had enough. He went to Fran and said, “Ok…either you or your wife is getting tossed. Your choice.” Fran looked at him & said, “Well, make it me”. And so it was 😂😂😂
