Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard will be transferred this afternoon to Des Moines Methodist Hospital for continuing care and treatment following a heart attack he suffered Monday afternoon.
Pollard was admitted and treated at Allen Hospital in Waterloo but the move to Des Moines Methodist gets him closer to home.
Pollard will have open heart surgery later in the week in Des Moines.
"It has been overwhelming to have received so many messages of support," Pollard said. "Our family is so appreciative of the uplifting and encouraging thoughts and prayers."
