Nixa, MO sophomore OT prospect Jackson Cantwell won the national HS championship in the shot put in Hayward, CA. The 5-star recruit has an ISU offer among a multitude of others. The 6’8” 300 pounder is the son of two Olympic shot putters.
Unless the Allen family is extremely close with the Cantwell family, I’d call our chances slim and none. Besides the cash offers, I suspect the kid is looking for a top tier football school with an Olympic caliber T&F program, particular in the throws. He is very likely to be a 2028 Olympian as a college sophomore, and a first round draft pick in 2029.
