I just got off the phone with Ankeny's JJ Kohl, who took a Junior Day visit to Ames on Saturday. He says during a conversation with CMC he was told that he's the #1 guy right now for the staff. I thought that was certainly noteworthy, as the Cyclones also appear to be all-in with Colorado HS QB Brayden Dorman. With Kohl, it looks like a decision will be coming over the spring. Judging by his comments to me tonight, I think Iowa State is out front. I'll have the complete story for you in the a.m. run.
