For the first time in the program's 133-year history, lowa State reached double-digit victories and finished 11-3 overall, while posting a 7-2 record in Big 12 play and reaching the school's second Big 12 Championship game. Since the start of the 2023 season, ISU is tied for the most overall wins in the Big 12 Conference (18).

• lowa State posted a 6-2 record against teams that reached a bowl game in 2024 ... the Cyclones were 4-0 in true road games played on opponent's campuses and have won nine of their last 12 games away from home ... overall, ISU is 16-6 in its last 22 games. lowa State started the season 7-0, matching the best start in school history.
  ISU won the Pop-Tarts Bowl against Miami, 42-41, in thrilling fashion ... the Cyclones played the bowl without projected draft picks WR Jayden Higgins (87 rec., 1,183 yds, 9 TDs) and DB Darien Porter (3 INT, 2 Blocked Kicks).
• Defensively, ISU allowed just 22.9 points per game, the eighth-straight season allowing less than 26.0 points per game to make them one of just 11 teams nationally to do so ... ISU's passing defense was third nationally giving up just 165.6 yards per game.
• ISU linebackers missed more than 45 games with two of the projected three starters playing a total of five snaps on the season... despite the injuries, ISU faced nine 1,000-yard rushers in 2024, the most nationally ….. it faced four of the nation's top 20 rushers.
• lowa State was one of the nation's least penalized teams with an average of 3.8 penalties per game (fourth nationally) for a nation-low 28.0 penalty yards per game.
• Since 2017, no Big 12 school has more bowl appearances than lowa State ... among current league members, lowa State's 43 Big 12 wins are more than every other team.
• With Rocco Becht running the offense, ISU is never out of the game ... Becht led the Cyclones to four game-winning drives in 2024: at lowa, vs. UCF, at Utah and vs. Miami ... the Cyclones were 5-1 in one-score games.
• Carson Hansen rushed for 13 touchdowns and finished the season with 15 total TDs, ranking among the top 25 nationally.
• Matt Campbell became ISU's winningest coach during the season and currently owns a 64-51 record at the school, including 61-42 after his first season ... he has 99 career wins entering 2025, his 14th season as a head coach.
• Campbell owns 51 percent of ISU's 89 all-time Big 12 wins ... his 45 victories are tied for seventh-most in league history with Gary Patterson.
