The Iowa State Letterwinners Club announced today Iowa State’s Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2018. Seven former Cyclone stars will be inducted into the Iowa State Hall of Fame on Sept. 14 in a special ceremony at the Sukup End Zone Club in Ames. Iowa State will honor the inductees at halftime of the Iowa State-Oklahoma game on Saturday Sept. 15.
Registration to purchase tickets for the event will open at a later date.
The Iowa State Hall of Fame was established in 1997 and 182 Cyclone legends have been enshrined. Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed upon the Iowa State Athletics Department and decided by an 18-person selection committee.

- Five-time Big 12 Champion
- Won three Big 12 Indoor shot put titles (1997, 1999, 2000)
- School-record holder in the indoor shot put (64’ 1”)
- Third-Team CoSIDA At-Large Academic All-American in 2000
- Silver Medalist in the shot put at the 1999 Pan American games
- Placed fourth in the shot put at the 2002 USA Outdoor Championships
- Ranked in the top-10 in the world by Track & Field News in 2005
- Two-time All-Big Eight selection (1985-86)
- ISU Defensive MVP (1985-86)
- Competed in the Blue-Gray Game and Senior Bowl (1986)
- Registered 304 career tackles to rank in ISU’s top-20
- Eighth round pick in the 1987 NFL Draft
- Played nine years in the NFL (1987-95)
- Started 120 of 121 games played in NFL career
- Six-time All-American in the shot put (1999-2002)
- Six-time Big 12 shot put champion
- Named to the Big 12’s 10th anniversary track & field team (2006)
- Placed third in the shot put at the 2002 NCAA Indoor Championships
- Placed sixth in the shot put at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials
- Placed fifth in the shot put at the 2001 U.S. Outdoor Championships
- Owns the second-best outdoor shot put throw in ISU history (54’-07.5”)
- One of only five women’s track & field performers to earn All-America honors six or more times.

- Four-time NCAA/AIAW qualifier
- Big Eight champion in 400 meter medley relay (1984)
- Competed in the 1984 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100-yard butterfly

- Interim Athletics Director at Oklahoma State (1993-95)

- Inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2009
- Iowa State Athletics Director (1983-93)
- Served as an Assistant Athletics Director (1974-83)
- Oversaw the merger of the men’s and women’s athletic programs into one unit in 1979
- Oversaw significant facility improvements, including Jack Trice Stadium, baseball and softball complexes and the Lied Recreation Facility (track & field)
- Iowa State won two NCAA titles as AD (1987 wrestling; 1989 NCAA men’s cross country)
- Men’s basketball made its first NCAA Tournament in 41 years and qualified for six NCAA Tournaments
