Been in Iowa all week and listened to several shows on the game this weekend...can't say I'm impressed. Even the guys on CF (CW without corrections from anyone) keep repeating that the last 4 have been won by the road team. That clearly wasn't the case and I can't believe that even on a Cyclone radio show/podcast that they can't get it right.
2014, Iowa State wins at Iowa, 20-17
2013, Iowa wins at Iowa State, 27-21
2012, Iowa State wins at Iowa, 9-6
2011, Iowa State wins at Iowa State, 44-41, triple OT
We aren't 2-2 over the last 4 years....we're 3-4. There are a lot of things about the game this weekend that make me concerned, but they make it sound like neither team has held the advantage at home recently. That's simply because 2 of the last 3 were in Iowa City....and the team they beat in Ames 2 years ago was really bad, as well.
Iowa can certainly beat the Cyclones, but they are going to have their hands absolutely full if our team improves from week 1 to week 2. We looked like a much better team than we were all of last season, and Iowa ALWAYS beats up on FCS opponents. That has not translated to wins over the Cyclones.
