Hok fans are concerned. According to some Iowa board posters:
Defense:
The hok defense is suspect, especially the D-line. Couldn't generate pressure on Miami (OH) QB. Hasse (DE?) was out with injury. Hok interior line is promising but young
Not a lot of love for CB Mabin. Sounds like a tall Miami(oh) WR owned him
Linebacker play was reportedly lackluster, overall
LB Jewell was out most of game (targeting), so he should improve their D this Saturday
CB Desmond King is still a stud, not a lot of throws his way (hence Mabin getting picked on)
Offense:
O-line sounds OK, but apparently thin at OT
Beathard wearing leg/knee brace, apparently limited mobility for making plays with his feet
Other than Matt Vandeberg, Hok fans aren't impressed with their WR's
TE's were mostly a non-factor against Miami...odd, considering Ferentz uses TE's
RB's apparently the offense's strength
Thoughts? Our O-line seemed to pass block fairly well the other night. With our stud WR's and a so-so Hok d-line giving Lanning time, we could cause some damage.
