Collecting thoughts on FB recruiting.

QB: (1) We have our guy in Kohl and are done here by all accounts.

RB: (0-1) I still feel like Nate White is #1, but he now has an in-state Badger offer, plus PJ Fleck is after him too. To me, Covey is Plan B and he has an OV scheduled. I think it's White, Covey or they pass on a RB, because right now, no one is graduating here (obviously the transfer portal can throw a wrench into plans).

WR: (2-3) I think Kai Black is their main target and I think that they get him. Beyond that, Andre Davis from KC has an OV set up. I think that they'll get one with Beni Ngoyi from Lincoln as well. After that, I don't know. They have an OV with Jakeem Jackson from FL, but he has Bama and Auburn offers, so who knows there. He could end up being a S or CB too. I guess I'd be surprised if he even visited given his recent offers. They are losing Hutchinson, Wilson and Shaw, so they are going to need bodies in the pipeline.

TE: (1) Losing Anciaux to KSU hurts. They offered Burhenn from IN, but he has piled up the offers since then. Camp McGee picked up a Miami offer, so he'll be a tough pull. Kind of starting from scratch here. I view Rhodes as an OT, but even if he's not, he is more the Soehner type and we'd need to find another receiving type TE. They've recruited VERY well here the past few years, so I think they can take a chance on a big WR and grow him.

OL: (4-5) If Rhodes is really a OT, then that's a good start. I think that they have decent chances at Henderson and Knutson, both of which have OVs set up. Lovett has a FL offer and Otting just got a ND offer, so those guys will be tough to get. Ludwig is committed to Toledo, but could possibly be flipped. Buhr from MO is listed as a DL, but I feel like he's an OG. He has an OV set up and is someone we could get, although his offer list is pretty impressive (ATM, IL, Hok, UW, Mizzou, MN). We only signed 2 HS OLs (3 if you count Deyo) in the last class, so I feel like this class is going to be OL heavy.

DE: (2-4) It gets pretty interesting here. I feel like Cunningham is kind of a combo DE. Outside on most downs, but could move inside on passing downs...kind of like Robertson and Onyedim. If they can keep Purchase from USC, that would be our pass rusher and someone who could play some Leo if we ever line up in a 4-2-5. They've been after Samuel Same from KS for a long time and I'd expect to get an OV from him. Jordan Allen from KC is coming on an OV, so he's obviously a priority. They recently offered Will McDonald from WI. He's probably a little under the radar, but we are his biggest offer. Love that he has an NDSU offer. And, Antonio Camon from Tampa Bay Tech is coming on an OV next month. I think that they'll take the first two to commit out of those guys, but they will keep a spot open for Purchase until he tells them no.

NG: (1-2) I would think that we're done here with Hammond. They've recruited extremely well here and have a full pipeline. But, Elinneus Davis is coming on an OV and we aren't going to tell him no.

LB: (2-3) First off, I love the Jack Sadowsky commit. I think he'll fit right in. They've been after McKinney from IL for a long time. Also, they're in a Cy-Hawk battle for Ebel. I think that they'd take all 3 if they can, but would be happy with Sadowsky and either of the other two. The wild card here is Aceyn Stevens. They're in a fairly heavyweight battle here with Neb, VT, TN, MN, WV and the home state Hoosiers. He has an OV set up, but the question is what position he'd play. He could very well be a LB, but may end up as a DE or even move over to TE.

S: (3) Cam Smith is a good start. It hurts that they lost out on Nestor to hok and Fair to KSU. Tobe from FL has an OV scheduled, but they'll have to beat out ARK, UNC, TN, UK, Neb, Miss St and IL for him. That's a tough pull, although having an OV gives us a chance. Jamison Patton is the obvious prize for us. Don't know what our chances there are vs hok, but him playing with Kohl this summer and fall can't hurt. The other guy I'd keep an eye on is Ben Minich from OH.

CB: (2) CB recruiting at ISU is always the toughest one to predict, as most of the CB talent is far away from Iowa. It does help that we can get guys in on OVs in the summer. If we couldn't do that, most of our targets would have already decided by the time we could get them on campus. I see Jarvis Lee from FL has an OV scheduled, and that would be a good start. No idea who the other priorities are. They seem to have trouble holding on to CB commits, so I could see why they might want to be a little under the radar here.

Even taking the high end of the ranges, that is 24, which seems doable. By my count, there is around 14 scholarship SRs, but with normal attrition, they shouldn't have an issue at least getting this class into the 20's.
