But I wonder how many college games I watched this year, men's and women's, when a team has the last shot with about 10-20 seconds left.....and they never get a shot off.
Why stand around dribbling 25 feet out and allow the defense to come up and play tighter and tighter as the clock winds down?
I understand the fear of "scoring or missing too soon", but I'd much prefer taking the ball as quickly to the hoop as possible before the defense is set, get my tying or winning points, and put the pressure on the other team to respond and score with a few seconds left.
Not getting a shot off is maddening. A tough thing for coaches or players to carry with them all summer...or the rest of their life.
