We both are dealing with prostate cancer. Fortunately for me, mine was detected well before it metastasized. In six months back in 2023, my PSA jumped from 4.6 to 7.9. This lead to a robot-assisted prostatectomy in April 2024. This got rid of most of it, though one of 13 lymph nodes taken for test also had it. Continued monitoring of my PSA indicated there was still some there. Starting in Feb this year, I underwent focused radiation treatment 5 days a week for eight weeks. This is being supplemented by anti-testosterone shots every six months for two years. I’m feeling fine with the only being hot flashes several times a day. I now have an little idea of one symptom women deal with in menopause😉

At his age and with his mental deterioration, I expect Biden’s treatment will skip the prostatectomy. It sounds like they will go straight to the anti-testosterone shots. Prostate cancer feeds on testosterone so the shots work to slow it down and extend a patient’s life span. I’ll be interested to see if they do radiation treatments. If they do, it may take a stronger version than I had because it reached his bones.

Whatever the treatments, I pray for the best results for him.
