Having watched the Toledo replay and specifically the last play prior to the missed field goal, I condemned the coaches for running a play that placed the ball on the left hash. On the replay, it actually appears that run was designed as a straight dive that would have kept the ball centered but the back in an attempt to make a play cut to the left. CPR is not gonna throw his young back under the bus by pointing this out, and instead has just taken the heat for putting his kicker in a bad spot. Could he have had Sam run a QB keeper to center the ball....yes. But it sure looks like the play called had every intention of centering the ball for the kick. Thoughts?
