I put all 4 names in the subject bc they all play a role here.
On Saturday, Heise and Chatfield played 28 combined minutes. Between them they had zero points, zero field goal attempts, zero assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 turnovers and 4 fouls. They have been giving us severely diminished returns, and Saturday was absolute rock bottom.
TJ has shown he is VERY slow to make lineup changes. The only reason Watson entered the rotation was due to MM's injury. Watson has been very good energy, defense and rebounding, putting a little scoring on top of that (3-4 ppg). Watson has helped us.
Nojus, if we remember, was in the rotation in early games and even in big Hawaii games. He was OK - learning the ropes, sometimes looked like a freshman, but in my eyes he looked the part. Great athlete. Smooth jumper. What happened??
Is there ANY chance Nojus can get another look? I know the issue is Heise can defend forwards and Nojus can't really guard a bigger guy. But we CANNOT keep going 4 on 5 or 3 on 5 on offense as sometimes Heise and Chatfield are in there together.
I would honestly like to see Nojus see the floor. We cannot continue this struggling half court offense every time we sub.
P.S. yes I know I am not at practice every day, and I trust TJ. Just thinking out loud.
Thoughts?
