Greta is the 90 year old Phoenix resident who has chosen to take on Suns owner, Robert Sarver, and Ed Zuercher, the city manager of the City of Phoenix. She opposes the proposed 150 million publicly financed sweethart arena renovation deal.
She's become an internet sensation. This morning she was on Dan Le Batard and Dan and the whole studio exploded in support of what she had to say.
An example:
“[Sarver’s] so tight he squeaks when he walks. And you have been negotiating with this kind of person? Shame on each and all of you. And upon you, Ed, I thought your principles were higher and better than this. We are not in the business of paying taxes to support private enterprise.”
And:
“The Suns have been a failure as long as he’s owned them, because he (Sarver) won’t invest in two or three top-grade players because that costs money, real money. As long as he runs this teams the way he’s run it, it will be a failure."
I thought she was fantastic.
