With all the NIL talk and player transfer, it's interesting to speculate on where this is all going. One scenario is the big form their super conference and the rest are in the second division. I don't think that will happen, in fact if the have nots would put their foot down and say we need rules, the big guys would come running. They want to be in leagues where they can win, and the school administrations would put their foot down on the money ball if the majority want to go that way.
If there is leadership (like JP and others) that get their conclave together to fix this, it will get fixed. The situation has to get out of control first before it gets fixed, and we are headed there. So for the future? I'm optimistic for Iowa State and others like us. The big boys will want to be in the club with the rest of the schools, and not in their own private country club where they will beat up each other.
