Tampa Bay Tech receiver Gregory Gaines lived up to his four-star ranking on Friday taking on Lake Gibson High School in the semifinal round of the Florida 7A playoffs. Locked in against 2023 five-star cornerback Cormani McClain all night, Gaines had three of his team’s six receptions covering 73 yards. His big play in the game was a 33-yard touchdown reception against McClain.
Tampa Tech advanced to the finals with a 42-24 win over Lake Gibson.
As mentioned on the board previously, Gaines looks bigger than his listed height and weight. I’m still sold on him being a four-star talent.
