My wife and I have been working through Dave Ramsey's plan and it has been incredible so far. The feeling of control and the amount of money we found available for other expenses was incredible. The fact that we purchase season tickets is solely as a reward for paying off all our debt but the house.
The thing is, Mr. Ramsey talks a lot about momentum and doing things for the church as a matter of faith. I love that, but it goes beyond that as well.
I was wondering what would happen if Financial Peace University started like a virus amongst Cyclone fans.
Sounds ridiculous, but if every Cyclone fan was completely debt free, mortgage and all, by the age of 35 or 40, I think the athletic department budget would rival all but the most elite budgets in the country. Very hard to compete with the Texas and Ohio State's of the NCAA, but we would crush Iowa.
