I need someone to explain to me why anyone would think, at least long-term, that putting all of the premier programs together in one conference is a good idea. Not everyone can win and be 12-0 or 11-2 every year. And the talk of Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Clemson, FSU, etc. all bolting to this "NFL developmental league" that the SEC supposedly wants to become is ludicrous. Are these current top of their conference schools going to be happy losing 3-4 games per year? Because it's going to happen. Yes, the big-name matchups draw huge audiences at the end of the season in the CFP now, but already even the formerly "premier" New Years day bowl games are less watched even with the big names in them because it isn't part of the CFP. If it becomes an every-week deal, the shiny newness is going to wear off in about 2 weeks once everyone has a couple losses.
Seriously, other than very shortsighted greed on the part of a small group, none of this makes any sense. It just doesn't.
