The Biden administration is suing him for not following the law (mainly because they hate him). But hold on, Space X is a defense contractor, and the law says that only US citizens can be hired. I worked at a defense contractor, and we actually had painted lines on floors throughout the building where even our own employees from France, where not allowed to cross these lines, as these parts of the building were off limits to people that were not citizens, so yes they take this stuff seriously.
