It appears the old Benson Motors building across from my office is headed to the junk yard (lots of steel). Heavy equipment began removing the west end on Monday, and about 1/3 of it's been hauled away. I just hope someone saved the Benson Motors Hilton Blimp.
Five new businesses are now open in the old K-Mart building: Home Goods, Ulta (a make-up store for women...or men too, I guess), Five Below (a dollar store times five), Pet Smart, and storage units in the old K-Mart automotive service bays.
Work on removing the trees along Iowa Creek continues....an article in latest Ames Tribune interviews ISU experts who aren't crazy about changing the habitat.
The new Marriott opened up across the street (next to Earl May) about a month ago....we've added hundreds of new hotel rooms in Ames the past 3 years.
My neck of the world where I work each day is getting quite a new look.
