I had to buy a new computer today. You'll never know how much you rely on the internet until you go a couple of days without it. Sure, I had my phone, but it's just not the same. My old Mac, which wasn't that old, (only 4 years) suddenly had trouble finding my Wi-Fi connection. I could sometimes get it manually to link up, but that was spotty at best. After a while, that quit working too.

So I did what, if you had asked me 5 years ago, I would have said was the unthinkable ... I went out and bought a PC. An HP PC, to be precise. I've been a Mac guy all my life. They were by far the superior prodct for much of that time, but they've slipped badly in the last 10 years. Frankly, I was getting sick of Mac and their add-ons and nickel and diming me. With a Mac, if you want a regular keyboard, instead of one of these chopped off things with no keypad, you have to pay a premium. They also cut way down on the USB ports on Macs, from half a dozen to 2 if you're lucky. You have to pay more if you want more.

Also, you used to be able to buy a much cheaper logitech mouse to replace your magic mouse if it went bad, but they eliminated the port in the back of the computer where you plug in the dongle to get the mouse to sync up with the computer. Speaking of the Magic Mouse, in the four years I had this current Mac, I've gone through 3 magic mouses. They just randomly quit working. They either quit scrolling or the cursor just starts jumping randomly all over the page. And they're expensive, just like all Mac products. You'd pay upwards of 80 bucks for a magic mouse and that doesn't include shipping. That's why I missed the $15 logitech adaptation.

This PC is going to take some getting used to. I almost hate Windows more than I began to dislike Mac. Mac's OS was much more intuitive than Windows, if you ask me, and it's just what I'm used to. And I hate all this left click, right click nonsense.
