Trying to find the recent article I read about the last 20 national champions, and that only 1 in the last like 15 years had a adj def eff rank outside the top 20. Thought it would be interested to see how ISU was on Kenpom site (had never visited the page before) and one stat that caught my eye was that ISU's Opponent's Adj Def Efficiency rating was ranked number 1. Our offense adj off eff ranking is number two.
We're not going far anytime soon without a defensive presence. And I think CSP realizes that and I think it's going to take a few years to get us to the point of going to Sweet 16 on regular basis. Like Paul mentioned this is a residual effect of 3 years of no recruiting (no TJ) and other schools playing the Holberg to NBA card.
