The Cyclones are set to host their fourth transfer portal recruit this weekend, as former Buffalo shooting guard Curtis Jones will make his way to Ames. The Minneapolis (Minn.) native and former Indian Hills JUCO standout started all 31 games for the Bulls this past season and averaged 15 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.0 rebounds. Jones was nearly a 36-percent shooter from deep and connected on 167-of-407 (41 percent) of his shots from the field.
He has been offered by Iowa State and it sounds like there's strong mutual interest between both he and the coaching staff. The Cyclones have one scholarship remaining for this season and have the luxury of being pretty picky on how to use it. Although he will be classified as a senior in 2023-24, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound shooting guard has a free Covid season to use beyond that if he chooses to utilize it.
