I get very little spam mail in my inbox. Most of it goes in a SPAM folder before I see it. I occasionally check the SPAM folder and find legit email and since I was expecting an email from a business, I checked it today.

There was one email. Most SPAM looks obvious, but this one looked normal. Gmail lets you see the first part of the email without opening it and this email claimed to have captured a password of mine. So I searched my password tracker database and there was no match. It was clearly fraudulent.

I had to see more so I opened it up and found a new kind of fraud I've never seen before. This one claimed to capture a video of me as I visited a porn site and was threatening to share it publicly the video of me and the website I was visiting if I didn't pay $2610. The thing is I don't visit porn sites so his scare tactics weren't going to work on me. But I wondered how many people fall for this. And worse yet why would you pay a guy that could come back for more after he discovers you are a sucker?

Maybe next week you'll see a video of me surfing Cyclone Report. It may not be porn, but it's close. 😈
