Nothing crazy here, but for those like me who enjoy bowl games...
1) Generally speaking, bowl games have been competitive this year. First five games through last night have been 11 points or less. Last season, there were six games on the first day (I'm not counting the Celebration Bowl), and three of those were decided by 20 points or more.
2) A couple of times this bowl season, both teams have been sporting their home (dark) colors in the bowls. IE last night, Georgia Southern (Blue) vs. Sam Houston (Red), rather than one team wearing light/white uniforms. James Madison v. Western Kentucky was Blue vs. Red. At some point, things changed--used to be that one team was always light/white.
3) The 1:00 bowl game today (Cure Bowl, Ohio vs. Jacksonville State) plays in Camping World Stadium, same stadium we play our game in. There are three bowls played there this year, including ours (Miami vs. Iowa State Pop-Tarts Bowl) and the Citrus Bowl on December 31 (South Carolina vs. Illinois).
