In the Midwest, football programs like Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Kansas State and Minnesota have increased funding for food to accompany a player’s training development. According to numbers provided by the schools via open-records requests, Iowa State spent $2.06 million, Iowa $1.89 million, Nebraska $848,000 and Kansas State $800,000 on food in the 2018 fiscal year. That’s strictly for football.
