Football recruiting rankings

ESPN+ has a story up re-ranking the class of 2022. I was happily surprised to see us at #8. I think it listed our original ranking as 54. It’s pay walled but if you have a Verizon account you might be able to get it for free, like I do.
Hunter Deyo was our highest ranked recruit 🙂 at the time, I might have to google him and see where he’s at now.

Local story from my area making national news (Elon related)

So, a local female weather meteorologist decided to go rogue following the Elon "Hitler" salute (which is a joke--it was not a Hitler salute. Who would say "from my heart" and throw out the salute?).

She posted some really crude stuff to social media.

A local conservative talk show host, Dan O'Donnell (does a great job, I'm a big fan) called her out on a segment earlier this week.

Fast Forward about 24 hours after the segment, and CBS Channel 58, her employer, canned her.

It's caused a huge uproar, and CBS 58 is getting ripped for letting her go. I mean, completely torn into on social media--you can read some of the hundreds of Facebook posts here: https://www.facebook.com/SamKuffelWx

Meanwhile O'Donnell is getting abused up and down by the Left...he's posted on X some of the emails that have come his way. Vulgar, threatening--one, since taken down, posted photo's of his kids and gave his address. (Side bar--O'Donnell lives fairly close to us, his kids go to our local high school. ) Fortunately, he has a strong back bone.

Here's a link his X account, you can read some of the emails if you page down. https://x.com/DanODonnellShow

As a past business owner, if one of my employees did something like this that could upset half my customer base--well, he/she would have some strong explaining to do.

Did she deserve to lose her job? I go back and forth. What she posted was BS...but...losing her job, and possibly messing up her career?

There's thoughts that this wasn't her first rodeo with some controversial posts, but haven't heard that for sure.

A dumb mistake that I would hope she now regrets. She's likely to pay for this for a long time. (Wisconsin is an at-will state, so CBS 58 should be able to fire her [unless she had some type of a contract dictating otherwise].)

If nothing else, wow, the power of social media in so many ways. I tell my kids repeatedly: DO NOT post something you will regret.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
