I may be over-dramatic, but not a lot, I fear. The deliberate move by ESPN and FOX to consolidate the power into 2 Conferences is close to complete. This will hasten the drive of the 2 remaining powers [FSU and Clemson] out of the ACC, probably along with a couple more like Miami or North Carolina, relegating the rest to the B league [Big 12].
The fact that 50% of the "Super Leagues" are borderline or actually sucky [8-10 of the Big Ten and 6 or so of the SEC won't matter (necessary, actually) as the real powers need a lower tier to beat up on. They will shut the rest out of the playoffs.
Add in NIL with no accountability and control and the gap will become a canyon. ESPN will seek to reduce the rest to AAC or MWC status, so they can have cheap inventory.
Unless somehow ALL the non SEC and B1G FBS schools find a way to unite and not play them, there is little chance. The lower level teams will need the money that can be thrown their way for games by the big boys.
