AMES, Iowa – The streak continues.

Iowa State has earned its 13th-straight trip to an NCAA Women’s Golf Regional. The Cyclones were selected to play in the NCAA Westfield Regional, May 8-10 in Westfield, Ind., as the No. 4 seed.

The NCAA Westfield Regional will be held at The Club at Chatham Hills with Mississippi State University as the host. The top five teams in the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The two individuals in each regional not among the teams advancing will also punch a ticket to Scottsdale.

This marks the 17th time and the 13th year in a row (1993-96, 2010-23) Iowa State has qualified for an NCAA Regional. In 2014, the Cyclones advanced to the NCAA Championships for the first and only time in school history, qualifying out of the NCAA West Regional held at Tumble Creek in Cle Elum, Wash.

The Cyclones are led by freshman Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn’s 70.33 stroke average. Chul-Ak-Sorn ranks seventh in the country by Golfweek and 11th by Golfstat. The freshman has 11 rounds in the 60s this year and finished in the top five at six tournaments. During the MountainView Collegiate, Chul-Ak-Sorn tied the lowest individual 54-hole score in NCAA history after posting a 25-under 191 total. Chul-Ak-Sorn is currently on pace to break the school’s lowest stroke average in a single season

With a 72.37 scoring average, junior Liyana Durisic is second on the team in stroke average. Durisic ranks 108th in the country by Golfweek and 117th by Golfstat. Durisic’s 72.86 career stroke average is the best in Iowa State history. Durisic’s best performance this season came with a tie for second place finish at the Houston ICON Invitational. Durisic carded a career-low 203 that included a first round 67 and back-to-back rounds of 68 to close out the tournament.

Freshman Pammy Chookaew ranks third on the team in scoring average with a 72.83. Chookaew is coming off a second-place finish at the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship. Chookaew tied the school’s lowest conference 54-hole score with a 213 that included Iowa State’s lowest conference 18-hole round of 67 (-5).

Senior Taglao Jeeravivitaporn is fourth on the team in stroke average at 73.40. Jeeravivitaporn helped the Cyclones to their first team victory of the season and recorded her best finish of the season at the San Diego State Classic where she finished tied for 17th place.
