The bride and I along with another couple are in NYC for a show and business. Yesterday we took the ferry over to Staten Island (never been, probably won’t go back) just to get a little something different. We found a fun little pizza/beer place and we’re having a few cold ones. The next table over was a group of four 30-something guys and one of them saw my ISU hat (Cy leaning on a capital I). He asked me if that was a Cyclone hat. I said it was and they proceeded to tell me they love college sports and pick a team from each time zone to follow and ISU was it for the CST. They never miss a Cyclone football or basketball game on tv and want to make a game within the next few years. I gave them my name/number and told them I would fix them up in style. Helluva lot of fun visiting with them. Crazy, small world. BTW: going up to West Point today. Had a great time 17 years ago at our game there. One of the coolest places I’ve ever been.
