Some, and you know who you are, who continued to help create fear on this board should take note. But, I can't blame ya' I guess...the media and the Dems were the real culprits. Shameful what happened to our country and the world. As I said a few times, our absolute wimp-like mentality would never have entered WW1 or WWII.

It’s not been easy to raise questions about the “guidance,” “directives” or dictatorial rights-robbing orders that have come from our “public health” officials. Doing so has gotten you kicked off of YouTube, censored on Facebook and Twitter and made you the target of name-callers who label you know-nothing, moronic, anti-science, dangerous dunces.

So now as we exit COVID, let’s take a look back and evaluate just how correct, or incorrect, these guidances and orders actually were.

SOURCE OF OUTBREAK. From Anthony Fauci on down, we were assured that COVID originated as an animal virus that jumped to the human species. Those who suggested that the huge virology lab in Wuhan was the culprit (a conclusion based on the fact that the virus first showed up — where else? — in Wuhan) were blasted as loons spreading dangerous misinformation. Now, virtually everybody is acknowledging the virus may have come from the lab. The experts? WRONG.

INITIAL REACTION. Based on “expert guidance,” New York’s leaders made fateful decisions. Mayor Bill DeBlasio urged New Yorkers to go to Chinatown for the annual celebration. This was at the very time the virus was raging in Wuhan and Chinese were freely traveling to the U.S. His counterpart at the state Capitol, Governor Andrew Cuomo, ordered nursing homes to accept persons infected with COVID, a decision that turned these facilities into killing fields. The experts? WRONG.

LOCKDOWNS. The experts told us to shut everything down for a few weeks to “flatten the curve.” But they kept us locked down long after the curve was flat. Economic ruin ensued, leading the government to pass trillions of dollars in stimulus, bailouts and unemployment compensation. There is zero indication any of this did anything to impact COVID. The most locked-down states, like New York and Michigan, had some of the worst COVID outbreaks. This guidance from experts? WRONG.

MASKS. For the first four or five months, the experts told us wearing masks didn’t do any good. They seem to have been correct about that. But, unable to handle actually being right, they then reversed course and mandated mask wearing everywhere. This rating is tricky. There is little evidence the masks did any good. Here in Wisconsin, our best months were those of early summer when there were no masks or lockdown orders. So it seems the orders were irrelevant. But since the experts did a flip-flop on this they were right before they eventually became WRONG.

YOUNG ADULTS. They were berated as selfish when they went on spring break both last year and this year. They were told many of them would die from their “risky” behavior. But the stats are in. Virtually nobody under 40 has died in the country from COVID and there were no significant outbreaks in the spring break hotspots. The experts? WRONG.

OUTDOORS. All sorts of outdoor activities, like Summerfest and the State Fair, were called off. But evidence is now overwhelming that COVID is almost never spread outdoors. Further, a significant link was discovered between COVID and Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is most easily obtained from sunshine. The experts? WRONG.

SCHOOLS AND CHILDREN. Urban districts like Milwaukee, where kids were already underachieving, shut down altogether and switched to lousy virtual learning programs. Other districts went the hybrid route. But, it turns out hardly any kids actually got sick from COVID and transmission in schools that remained open was very rare. In the meantime, tens of thousands of kids struggled academically. Even worse, many kids developed serious emotional problems. This is a real public health crisis. But the “experts” who are supposed to be on top of these things missed it altogether. They were too busy protecting the kids from a virus that didn’t harm them to safeguard the kids from a mental health and social crisis. More than any other area of COVID, the experts were WRONG.

IMMUNITY. For a year, Fauci and others were telling us a vaccine would save us. But even after being fully vaccinated, Fauci and leftists politicians who slavishly followed his “expert” guidance kept wearing masks. They were WRONG.

REOPENING. Governors Abbott of Texas and DeSantis of Florida reopened their states a couple of months ago. President Biden said the decision to allow full attendance at Texas Rangers baseball games was “medieval.” Florida threw out masks and all restrictions. Nothing happened. Months later, all states are now following the lead of Abbott and DeSantis. The experts? WRONG AGAIN.

TREATMENT. “Experts” advised against treatments with meds like hydroxychloroquine despite lack of risk and some success. More recently, doctors all over the world are reporting stunning results from a cheap old drug named ivermectin. But it’s still not authorized for use in our country by our addled experts who are clearly WRONG.

The directives we have received have been almost entirely wrong. This was a case of the blind leading the blind. The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention would issue guidance and every local health officer would unquestioningly follow it. Skeptics were silenced and censored. While the experts were consistently WRONG, the independent thinkers have been proven correct. It is time for us to reconsider whether public health experts know anything and to vow to never again muzzle those who engage in critical thinking and offer reasoned alternatives.
