For those of you that are interested in military history, there is a podcast that I recently found that is dedicated to the history, function, production, design, and use of firearms used in WWI. The YouTube channel is C&Rsenal. It isn’t new by any means. Some of you may already be aware of it. The episodes go back four years. So far there are 127 episodes. I’m on episode 74, which is 1 hr 42 minutes on the Russian Mosin-Nagant 1891.

The format is to introduce the gun, talk about the relevant history of the designer, company, earlier versions that lead up to that model, and that model. Then they take it to the range and demonstrate loading and firing. The shooter is a woman, mainly because she is approximately the average size of a WWI era soldier. Then more of the history of the gun, and finish up by a review of handling etc by Mae, the shooter.

As with anything, some episodes are better than others, and some hold more interest. I like it.
