According to what I heard this morning on Mike and Mike, the Big 12 informed schools last summer that "fines and the loss of home games" can be levied against schools who don't take procedures to eliminate court storming. I don't know if that authority was given for all games, or just conference games.

Feel terrible for Randy Pete, but last night has to be kept in complete context. You had a rivalry game against a school with the most arrogant fans in the county. You had students who had been camping out for 3 days for the the game. You had a 20 point 2nd half comeback in one of the most emotionally charged arenas in the country. Just ask Fran Fraschilla what that's all about--he knows from broadcasting so many of our games.

Add to that you are dealing with 18 year olds who don't really care about much more than their next text message. These weren't adults storming the court, they are kids. Although I gotta admit, this old guy was so charged up at the end of the game I almost wanted to go out and join them.

Would the Big 12 go out of their way to make an example out of Iowa State? Uh yeah, they would. We aren't Kansas.
