Im a guy that usually drinks the kool aid this time of year. The more I read through all of the threads it seems there are alot of fans that aren't expecting much this year. I had tempered my enthusiasm some but as kickoff approaches I'm again getting excited. My question is why won't we win more games than we did last year???
We were centering the ball on a gimme field goal and not kneeling on the ball against Kstate away from 5 wins last year. We have a QB returning with some experience. We have a Big 12 differance maker in the backfield and the WR unit. We seem to have more depth at the DL and DB groups than we have had in some time. The LB ers arent getting alot of hype but should be at least serviceable. Special teams should be above average. It all comes down to the Oline play. I have faith that Manning will be able to put a decent group on the field although they obviously have to stay healthy. I have a feeling these guys are going to play like their coaches coach. We will be confident, organized and have a great gameplan in place every Saturday.
Why cant we get 5-6 wins this year?? UNI, Iowa, SJS, Kstate, Kansas, Tech, UT and WV are all games that we should be able to compete in. Who knows what will happen with Baylor as the season rolls on. Maybe we jump up and beat one of the big boys. Lets do this!
