New women's basketball transfer 6'-6" Stephanie Soures helped her hoe country of Brazil to win the FIBA South American championship 69-68 against Argentina. Out of five games by Brazil this was the only one that was close. All the others were blowouts!

For the tournament Soures averaged 10.2 points per game with 51 percent shooting (nearly 62 percent from 3!). She also averaged 6.6 rebounds per game, And she did this while playing less than 17 minutes per game! She played power forward as Brazil has a 6'-8" center who plays college ball for South Carolina.

In the title game she did not score until the fourth quarter but with her team behind she hit a three, got a defensive rebound, hit a two, got a defensive rebound and hit another three! 8 points in a row to put Brazil in the lead. It was back and forth after that with Brazil winning by one.

Stephanie looks like she will be a great addition to the team this year. She is very athletic, can dribble the ball up the floor and runs the floor smoothly. Her three point shot reminds me of Kristin Scott only she is 3" taller (maybe Anna Prinz-like?)! And that height is not exaggerated from the pictures.
