For those who have not see it, tonight is supposed to be a great night to see the northern lights in Iowa if it is clear in the north skys. Tonight those as far south as northern Oklahoma may (or may not) be able to see them. No best time that I am aware of. Just get someplace where it is dark (no light pollution) and that has a view of the northern sky.
