Forget about Game Day for a little while. The Cross Country Nationals are Saturday morning at 9:00 AM on ESPNU. Both men and women's teams have qualified. Video links are below, but check out the Iowa State Track & XC Twitter feed and they should provide a link to real time results before the race starts in the morning.
Following the real time results is a better way to track the race as the video is really hard to see what's going on. The exception would be if Wesley Kiptoo is out front. Once the pack gets some separation you can follow the lead runners on TV. Otherwise it's just a cluster that the real time results feed does a great job of sorting out. Well, there are exceptions. At the regionals, only 5 of our men's runners were showing results. Thomas Pollard and others were not listed. Jamie was in West Virginia, so you can imagine what was going through his mind. Their chip was not being logged as they crossed the marks, but it resolved itself before the race ended. My theory is the track was narrow and the pack was so wide some runners ran wide of the pickup sensors. Or since it was in Iowa City, the ISU runners could have just been sabotaged.
