When the 2015-2016 ISU men’s basketball season began, the team had two fourth-year seniors set to lead the squad: Georges Niang and Naz Mitrou-Long. A medical redshirt for Mitrou-Long ended up separating their senior campaigns, but the two players still have a bond with each other – and with Cyclone Nation – that can’t be broken.
VISIONS magazine spoke to Niang and Mitrou-Long in the preseason for a story that shows the strength of both men’s connections to the Iowa State community. Fans saw that passionate connection Monday nightat Hilton Coliseum, in Niang’s tearful Senior Night farewell address. "You guys have been everything to me," Niang told Cyclone fans as he exited the Hilton Coliseum hardcourt for the last time.
