Many Veterans do not discuss their experiences.
Often it is due to the humbled, reverence, and respect of the fallen soldiers...whom did not make it home.

Here is part of one story:

In Afghanistan...A small combat outpost was being overwhelmed by RPG, mortar, and gunfire attacks from Taliban fighters whom had breached the front gate and the ammunition supplies for the U.S. soldiers had been separated from the 52 U.S. soldiers. The sargent asked for 5 volunteers to work together on a remedy. And five volunteered.... and then the Sargent gave them the risky plan ( to resecure the outpost, before more and more U.S. lives were lost... )

Afterwards:
Staff Sargent Clint Romesha went on to emphasize that, in his mind, the real heroes are the 8 soldiers who died in battle that day. He can recite each name, each person like brothers...and will be able to, forever...

"They are only gone unless we do not remember them. In my opinion, true heroes are those do not come home. Those are the only ones that deserve that title of hero. They gave up everything and more than could ever be asked of them."

" It wasn't about a day of hatred toward the enemy. It did not matter about the politics. It mattered about the those brothers to your left and right - we did not fight because we hated the guys who were attacking us, we did it more because we loved the guys that were on our left and right.
Love will win out...
over hate and anger, any day of the week."
