Since ISU announced the reduced football ticket price 3 game 'mini pack,' some of our friends in hokland have had some fun with our slow ticket sales. However, we are not alone. In an article in my local newspaper dated July 1, the uofi announced Newton Community Day for the NTSU game, Sep. 26. It's quoted that "Any member of the Newton community can purchase an unlimited number of $40 group rate adult tickets and $25 youth tickets." The article went on to say that Grinnell was offered the same deal last year and a record number of 526 tickets were sold. Gee, imagine how bad the ticket sales would have been without those 526 from Grinnell...... And, yes, I realize that the opponents are not exactly of equal gate value (although NTSU might be better than the hoks), but still, the hoks having to sell discount tickets when the venue is Historic Kinnick Stadium does say something about the fans appreciation or lack thereof of their schedule..
