... Why are we all of a sudden calling Kiev "Keeve" and not the traditional "Key-ev?" And how exactly do you spell it? I've seen Kiev, which is how I've traditionally spelled it, but now I'm seeing Kyev and Kyiv, too. Does this mean that chicken "key-ev" should now be pronounced "chicken Keeve?" Have we just been pronouncing it wrong all the time until it was in the news and someone bothered to actually research how it's spelled and pronounced? Not the most earth shaking questions, I realize, but it's an annoyance I'd like cleared up.
