You might remember a thread earlier this spring when I saw a series of strange lights cutting across the Des Moines sky at hyper speed, all in a straight line. FormerlyCyberCy suggested it might be the new SpaceX Starlink satellites (and I think he was probably correct). Here’s an update on Elon Musk’s Starlink system. “SpaceX satellites have the bold aim of bridging the digital divide. Half the world—predominantly poor and rural communities—still has no Internet access, or suffers from poor connectivity and prohibitively expensive services.” They already have more than 500 satellites orbiting and are looking for folks in the northern latitudes of the northern hemisphere (like Seattle) to signup to test the new satellite internet source.
