Writer Barry Trammel makes a compelling case that BYU and UConn should be the two candidates, and I have to agree with his logic. UConn is a state university, the same as 8 of 10 Big 12 members. And when the SEC, Pac and Big 10 have expanded, "state university" is where they look. Like culture, like minded. And next to UConn, besides CSU, BYU is the closest to a similar status. Great article. Take a read. I would add that Colorado State would be very like minded for the conference...and is my second pick with UConn. ( I think BYU and UConn has been LSC's pick since day one if I remember correctly)
