I just heard on the radio that over the last 21 years the team that has won the turnover battle is 16-5. Actually it may be better than that because I think there was a couple of years the two teams tied on the turnover thing. They haven't given up a turnover since 2104 and I'm not counting on them giving up one on Saturday. Sure the law of averages say they should have one, but Iowa seems execute plays that are low risk. CMC preaches detail and winning the margins and a big part of that is cutting down on the mental mistakes. However, in the last two big games we have played (I'm not counting Drake) our team made a lot of mental mistakes. We were the better team than WSU but they won because of false starts, a Montgomery turnover, and player personal target rejections. Against UNI we had stupid penalties at crucial times. Holding in the red zone, jumping into a pile without the helmet. So we just can't have that kind of stuff on Saturday and I hope what the coaches preach on this finally translates to the field for a full game.
