It appears - as expected - that our football team is not getting much respect going into this football season. Even among the supposed fanatics on this board, we have more discussion about our supposed demise. I suppose that is to be expected given the last two years.
However, I am always optimistic this time of year. Call me Charley Brown. One of these days I will get to kick that dang ball - I hope. Anyway, to generate a little discussion, what do you think is our best position group? To be fair, there are probably only 2 or maybe 3 candidates?
I am going with Wide Receivers. I know. Every year we are supposed to have the "best ever" group. I just think this year we do - at least relatively. Hopefully we can stay healthier than last year. But, as a group, they have most of the things you want. They have size in Montgomery and Lazard, speed in some of the younger guys like Wesley and Harris, Bundrage and Daley who have some size and good speed, a couple of good possession types like Medders , and potential in Lee-Campbell and Ryen. What they don't have, is that one absolute stud that is going to demand at least man and half coverage. I thought Bundrage might be that guy, but with his injury I am not sure his development will put him at that "next" step. This is a group that has Big XII talent and depth, but has been fragile and needs to, finally, deliver.
