Did anyone attend the Signing Day party at the Thunderhead Sports Bar in Ankeny last night? I was there. Compared to the only other CF signing day party I attended at the Keg Stand, this was a much smaller venue. Nothing against the Thunderhead, but I hope they pick a bigger venue in the future.
All the coaches were there. Some of the assistants made the rounds and struck up conversations with fans throughout the bar. Matt was kind of nailed to the floor at the front with a crowd almost always around him. I briefly chatted with him, but not for long so he could talk to others. I was lucky enough to have lunch with him earlier in the day. I really like the staff Matt has put together. It certainly appears that the assistants have a lot of respect for Matt. They seem to be a fun bunch too. It might be a good time to join the Gridiron Club so you can have a chance to meet these guys at Gridiron Club events. I hope we still have a barbeque as that is one of the events that I really enjoy.
