I can hardly wait for the season to begin. I got my first taste of competition Saturday when I attended the Volleyball scrimmage and Christy's pre-scrimmage chalk talk. On Friday I'll venture to Mississippi River Distilling Company for the Cody Road/Cyclone Fanatic Kickoff Party. You've got to support those kind of events when they come to eastern Iowa, but I confess I wouldn't be going had my tailgate buddy not talked me into it. And he's driving so the GF and I can enjoy ourselves without that concern.
August is always a month of appointments that fill the calendar. I had eye surgery earlier this year and had the final appointment with the specialist where he proclaimed me good and I don't have to see them again. Next week will be my annual appointment with my normal eye doctor. Hope to get the prescription tweaked up so I don't miss any of the action. The dentist checkup was routine. I just had my annual physical with the doctor and he proclaimed me good for a newly minted 69 year old. The cholesterol and glucose are good as well as all the other parameters. The blood pressure was normal. I haven't missed a day of exercise in well over a month. And I've been drinking a lot of water everyday, something I never did before. The weight is trending down, although my birthday weekend reversed that trend, hopefully temporarily. All this means is that I can tailgate to excess this fall! 😁
Sorry for rambling. I'm fired up and haven't felt this good in a long time. The tour of the facilities has got me really chomping at the bit. It won't be long now. I'm ready! Hopefully these photos will make up for putting up with my rambling post.
