Just a few though t's on what I saw.
1. I went in with minimal expectations for the offense. My expectations were met. Under wraps, plain and predictable.
2. Offensive line looked better assignment wise. Still could not assert their will in the run game.
3 QB would have won us more games last year. He WILL require defenses to scheme for him.
4. A scrimmage where it is 2 hand touch or less on the QBack handicaps the offense and gives the defense a falie sense of security.
5. Quarterback has more depth. None looked like stars, however.
6. I was disappointed that the wide-receivers could not gain much separation. Trevor Ryen, walk on from a small western Iowa school via UNI, looked good and fast. Scary on several fronts. Lee-Cambell looked decent at wr.
In summary, I wasn't encouraged or discouraged by what I saw, other than the SEZ.
I would like to hear others comments.
