Go look at the Baylor and Okie State schedules. What do they have in common in October? ISU, Kansas, and bye weeks. The Cowboys are coming off a big win over Texas and get us at home before a bye week and at Kansas. It's unlikely we get their maximum effort.
The Cyclones have gained a lot of confidence the last couple weeks and they'll be ready to pounce if OSU makes a mistake early. OSU lost to Central Michigan so we've seen them play below their potential before. On the other hand, they beat Pitt in a close game, so they know how to score one more than you if it gets tight.
I give us a good 20% chance to pull this one out. Maybe a little bit lower because of the curse. (You all know the curse I'm talking about. It's the one that brought us Natty Light, two blown shots at the Big 12 North, injuries to Georges Niang in the tourney followed by a close loss to the eventual champions, being in the Big 12, etc.) The offense is starting to get a rhythm and we might just be able to play enough defense to give Campbell his first big win.
